The last few days have been hectic!
We’ve been moving offices and it has had all the normal drama that comes with such an exercise. Like yesterday I sat around all day waiting for the power company to turn up to flick a switch. They told me to get there at 8am and it didn’t get turned on until 3.30 in the afternoon.
I must admit, I didn’t care that much as I knew it would all be worth it. Here’s why:
Check out the Google Earth shot of our building in Burleigh Heads (Australia). Yep…. right on the beach. :)

This is as you walk into the main office area.

This is looking back on the admin area and into the open plan office area. That’s my son eating rice crackers.

Check out the view from my office window! Now you can see why I didn’t care. :)

This is looking up the point from that beach you saw out my window.

Here’s the view up the coast from on top of that grassy hill in the photo above.

Pretty nice huh.
I live about 5 minutes stroll from here, so my wife walks down here each day at lunch time so I can mess around with my son on the beach.
If I look out the window and I see the swell starting to wall up, I can grab my surfboard and I’m in the water within a few minutes.
When I want to get creative, I can work outside on one of the beach picnic tables and still connect to my office wifi. Yes… the beach is so close I can still get my office WiFi on the sand.
We’re really blessed to be able to work in this part of the world, particularly in office space like this. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not working here by chance. It’s deliberate. It’s all part of a grand plan of mine to live life to the fullest, even while I’m working.
Sure we could have found cheaper office space and made more profits. But for me, profit is only part of what makes for a fullfilling life. In my mind, money only gives you more opportunities, not more happiness.
Heck…. I had better stop before someone knocks me off my soap box. :)
The truth be known, I’m only starting to get some of this stuff right. I’ve got a long way to go to get my life in full balance.
I hope this has encouraged you at least a little to strive to live life to the fullest, even if you’re working a lot.
If you want further encouragement and inspiration, I highly recommend you subscribe to Yanik Silver’s Maverick Business Insider. Yanik is one of my inspirations for trying to live like this.
His ethos is:
- Make massive money
- Have more fun
- Give more back
In issue one of the Maverick Business Insider, there is an inspiring interview with a guy called Mike Geary. This guy’s on track to achieve $3 to $4 million in sales this year from just ONE ebook he sells through ClickBank. He works 4 hours a day and does outdoor adventure sports the rest of time.
Issue two should also be good as there is an interview with an affiliate who’s doing $100,000 a month with PPC, by DIRECT linking to vendors. As you’d know, many people say this isn’t possible. Yanik says you’ll be surprised how much detail this affiliate reveals.
You can get the first edition free. You just pay shipping and handling.
(That’s an affiliate link, but I don’t care if you don’t use it. This is stuff is so foundational that I would hate you to miss out simply because you thought I was just pushing it just for the commission. I’m trying to live this stuff!)
