How to promote SpeedPPC like a super affiliate

By Allan Gardyne
CEO, AssociatePrograms.com

As you may know, I’ve been earning a very good living from affiliate programs since 1998. I’ve love to see YOU achieve really good sales of SpeedPPC and earn some whopping affiliate commissions.

To help you do this, here are some of the most important things I’ve learned about effective pre-selling (warming up your readers, getting them in a ready-to-buy mood)…

Have you wondered why those super affiliates whose emails you receive often tell you about a product several times?

They’re prepared to risk driving you crazy and risk seeing you unsubscribe because they know from first-hand experience that follow-ups WORK. Often they work brilliantly.

Follow-ups achieve extra sales.

In fact, they achieve LOTS of sales - IF you do them right.

They can add an extra 10%, 25%, even 50% to your sales and commissions.

For a good product like SpeedPPC which people are genuinely excited about, follow-ups also help create buzz, which leads to more sales - for you.

So make sure you promote SpeedPPC more than once. Perhaps your first email won’t even be read. Sometimes, your first email will almost-but-not-quite persuade one of your subscribers to buy. A follow-up email can clinch the sale.

Read on, though, because it’s very important that you get this technique right. You need to know how to send follow-ups WITHOUT ANNOYING YOUR SUBSCRIBERS. Or not annoying them TOO much. After all, it’s impossible to please everyone.

When you’re sending follow-up emails to your subscribers, DON’T merely repeat whatever you said in the first message. If you do, your readers will feel that you’re just blasting them with ads.

Each time you send a follow-up, choose a DIFFERENT aspect of the SpeedPPC system to emphasize.

For example, your first email could emphasize the time-saving features - a month’s tedious PPC work done in 12 minutes. In your second email you might write mainly about the cost-saving benefits of achieving amazing Google Quality Scores. Or perhaps you could concentrate mainly on the benefits of using precise tracking to find out which keywords and campaigns are profitable. A third email could discuss your ideas on how to use the SpeedPPC system with datafeed files. Another email might discuss “long tail” keywords, and your experience with them. Or perhaps you’ll write about the instruction videos.

Different features of the SpeedPPC system will appeal to different readers.

Before you send your newsletter or publish your review on your website, read it out loud. This will help you identify any sections that sound a bit awkward. Fix them.

If you have time, after you’ve written your email put it aside for a day or two. When you return to it, you’ll nearly always be able to spot ways to improve it to make it more effective. You may see glaring errors you missed when you first wrote it.

ALWAYS test all the links before you click Send. It’s just far TOO easy to assume you got them right. Been there, done that!

How long should your email be? As long as it takes to tell your story.

And that’s exactly what you need to do - tell a story. Stories enable you to form a connection with your readers. First you form connections, then you make sales.

The importance of SO WHAT?

As you read what you’ve written, picture a typical reader saying, “So what?” or “What’s in it for me?”

Make sure you answer those questions. Keep answering those questions all the way through your email.

ALWAYS talk about the benefits, don’t just list features. You know what benefits are - they’re the things you write about when you’re answering the “So what?” questions.

For example, you could write that the SpeedPPC system enables you to achieve superb Google Quality Scores. Don’t stop there. Imagine your skeptical reader saying, “So what?”

Answer: “When you get good Quality Scores, you pay LESS for your PPC campaigns.”

So what?

This means you can turn unprofitable PPC campaigns into profitable campaigns.

So what?

You make more sales. You make more money. You enjoy life more. You buy the things you feel like buying. You impress your girlfriend, whatever :)

(I’m NOT saying that you should write “So what?” in your newsletter - just imagine your reader saying it to you.)

If you’re reviewing SpeedPPC for your website, answer those “So what?” questions there, too.

Be enthusiastic

Remember, enthusiasm sells. Be lively. Be chatty. Reveal a little of your personality.

Here’s a strange thing… I’ve noticed that the newsletters I’ve sent out which have received the most complaints are very often ALSO the newsletters which achieve the MOST SALES.

Being dull is dangerous. Dull emails won’t connect with your readers. Be enthusiastic - or don’t bother sending the email.

Don’t overdo your enthusiasm, though, or it will sound like hype.

You know what your readers are interested in. You know their skill levels. As you write, ALWAYS picture one of your typical readers. Imagine how he or she is reacting to your words. Tone your writing to suit YOUR readers, not someone else’s.

Add credibility

If you’re writing about Jay Stockwell, the creator of the SpeedPPC system, it will be helpful if you give your readers a little background info on Jay, so that they’re more likely to believe in him and have faith in the product he created.

You may want to say something like this…

“You may know Jay as the brains behind the keyword research website, KeywordWorkshop.com, and the anti-click fraud site, ClickSentinel.com. He also did the recent major redesign of AssociatePrograms.com.

“Jay is an AdWords Qualified Individual and does contract PPC advertising for an Australian company, Cash Doctors”.

“He charges $500 an hour for PPC consulting.”

(By the way, Jay used to be my Special Projects Manager. He’s now my business partner and owns a share of my business.)

Bonuses - but not just any bonuses

Offer bonuses - not just any bonuses, but bonuses that are closely related to the SpeedPPC system.

For example, promise to give anyone who buys through your link a special report or video showing them the results of your successful experiments using the SpeedPPC system.

Here’s an idea for a really powerful bonus - your own special report on how to create highly effective landing pages. Because the SpeedPPC system is aimed at experienced PPC advertisers, it doesn’t tell you how to create landing pages. You can widen your market by being the affiliate who provides this essential info.

Or perhaps show them a video of you creating a winning PPC campaign.

One really clever thing you can do is create a video and add your SpeedPPC affiliate link to it. You can even add your affiliate link to a YouTube video. The nifty tool which enables you to do this is called Affiliate Video Brander.

Whatever the subject of your bonuses, I strongly recommend that your talk about SpeedPPC and its benefits FIRST, and then discuss your bonus. Mike Filsaime noticed during his recent launch that affiliates who discussed the product first achieved the most sales.

Remember, with commissions of $248.50 per sale on offer, it’s well worth while making a little extra effort.

Avoid repeating our salesletter

One of the commonest mistakes that newbie affiliates make is repeating the affiliate merchant’s sales letter. The poor would-be customer reads what the affiliate has to say, then goes to the website and has to read it all again.

Result: The eyes glaze over. No sale.

Use your own words.

The most important super affiliate tip of all

For truly awesome, effective pre-selling, use the SpeedPCC system yourself. Then describe your experience with it.

Write a review and give specific details of PPC campaigns you’ve run and the good results you achieved.

DON’T be vague. The more details you give, the more likely you are to achieve extraordinary sales.

In the eight years in which I’ve been writing email newsletters, I’ve ALWAYS achieved the MOST sales when I’ve used the product and described the results, giving specific details.

In my experience, doing this can make the difference between between a handful of sales and more than 100 sales.

Be honest

If there are aspects of SpeedPPC that you dislike, don’t be afraid to say so in your review. Such honesty can actually INCREASE your sales - as long as the features you don’t like are fairly minor.

Being brutally honest helps you connect with your readers. To make sales, first you need to form a connection.

NOTE: The SpeedPPC system (it’s a system, not just software) is suitable for experienced PPC marketers. It’s not aimed at newbies.

If you’re a PPC dunce, SpeedPPC may just make you a faster PPC dunce.

If you’re a PPC newcomer and you want to use SpeedPPC, first you’ll need to study a really good introduction to PPC, such as Perry Marshall’s much acclaimed Definitive Guide to Google AdWords. It’s THE manual on AdWords.

If you’re good at PPC, SpeedPPC can make you very, VERY good.

Quick summary

Tell a story. Connect. Make sales.

OR

Make a STRONG connection. Make MANY sales.
